My Unforgettable Experience at SGCC 2023 – A Filipino Exhibitor’s Journey!
Hey everyone! I can’t contain my excitement as I sit down to share the incredible adventure I had at Singapore Comicon 2023 (SGCC 2023). This marked my first time stepping out of the Philippines to be an exhibitor, and let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster of emotions – a perfect blend of scary and exciting!
Amidst the hustle and bustle of SGCC, what struck us the most was the warm welcome we received from the Singaporean community. Their enthusiasm for diverse art forms and cultures made us feel right at home. The support extended by the Pinoy community in Singapore and the Filipino embassy was overwhelming. It was like having a piece of home with us in a foreign land, and it added a layer of comfort to our entire experience.
The experience wasn’t just about showcasing our craft; it was also about connecting with fellow Filipino artists who were there to make their mark. In the bustling atmosphere of SGCC, we had the opportunity to meet and dine with some incredible Pinoy talents. Sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and forming bonds with like-minded creatives made the entire event feel like a family reunion.
As the event came to a close, we decided to extend our stay in Singapore. What better way to celebrate our successful venture than by exploring the beautiful city! From the iconic Marina Bay Sands to the vibrant streets of Little India, every corner of Singapore offered a new adventure. The blend of cultures, mouthwatering cuisine, and stunning cityscape made our extended stay an absolute delight.
The highlight, however, was our farewell dinner with the Pinoy artists. It was a night filled with laughter, shared experiences, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Despite being miles away from home, we found comfort in the company of fellow Filipinos.
SGCC 2023 was not just an exhibition; it was a journey that brought our artistic dreams to life. The memories created, friendships forged, and the sense of pride in representing the Philippines will forever hold a special place in my heart.
